Our Project for Loft Conversion and Interior Designing
Our clients came to us with the vision to transform their existing extended loft. We created a suitable addition of a mansard dormer extension right above the existing outrigger. The existing space was incorporating a small bedroom as well as an en-suite. They came up with a vision. And we were working hard to make that happen.
Our aim was to create a fully functioning master suite, along with added bedroom, a large shared bathroom and plenty of storage space. These were all the key elements of the initial brief. While working with us, our client also wanted us to reconfigure other areas of the family home, along with the ground floor open-plan living area that would come up with a new, bespoke kitchen and new flooring. We recommended doing these side by side to save time and money. And all the hard work paid off.
Our Solution
Since the property had already been extended and it exceeded their permitted rights of development, we had to go for a householder application to get that much-required space. Consequently, we had to make a slight compromise since the council would only approve the extension if we incorporated a mansard style roof to lower the impact on the neighbours. We had to make the most of the available space.
This plan wanted us to be especially innovative. Such as, we created concealed storage pockets in the eaves. And this is how we made the most out of the available space. We used similar roof tiles to cover up the proposed extension. Since we remained subordinate to the original dwelling, the council were happy. After planning, our interior designers started preparing all the required documents and designs for tender.
